When is a good time to update to a new plan year or new periodic period of time?

It is best to update a plan to the next period right after you have completed work for the prior period. System enhancements and updates occur regularly and sometimes a plan recalculation is required before you can update the plan to the next period. System programming updates may cause plan recalculations to produce slightly different results (usually due to rounding issues). By updating a plan right after a period has been completed, the plan's opening balances in the next period will be the same regardless of any programming updates to the system.
